PJ Hairston represented the State of NC and marked history as a player! He attended Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC and was a McDonalds All-American! Afterwards from 2011-2013, he had a great career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; widely known for his play making & scoring abilities, competitive drive, & playing the game with energy and passion!
These efforts & footprints that PJ gave to UNC Basketball afforded him an opportunity to compete at the highest level in the world, the NBA.
PJ Hairston was a 1st round draft pick, and drafted #26 in the 2014 NBA Draft! Though he had a small stint in the NBA G-League, Hairston greatly produced and had effective roles with the Charlotte Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies.
“It was a no brainer to add PJ Hairston as the Associate Head Coach of the Capitals . Hairston brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, wisdom, humility, & leadership to the front line! Not often do you have a former NBA player of his caliber taking interest in giving back to community. What impressed me the most about Pj Hairston is that he truly has humility & a heart to serve! He is passionate about his family, developing & training youth, sharing his knowledge & wisdom to aspiring professional players, and teaching the importance of team chemistry! There is no doubt that PJ has a winning mindset, competitive heart, and a commitment to make a difference in our Wake Forest - Rolesville Community! He is eager to show our Capitals players the way, by sharing the principles he’s learned throughout his journey!” - DeMarcus Oliver (Team Owner / GM)
