Coach Baysinger is super excited to bring great energy, passion, & professionalism to the Capitals in 2026. Born and raised in Brazil, Indiana; Garrett grew up immersed in basketball. His mother, Gretchen, was a standout Division I player at Indiana State University before coaching varsity basketball at (2) High Schools. His uncle, Mike Turner, was also a Hoosier Basketball standout who earned a scholarship at both, North Carolina State and Indiana State.
Garrett graduated in 2013 from Rockville Junior-Senior High School. He competed in both basketball and tennis, where he was part of the #1 RANKED 1A basketball program in Indiana in 2012–2013. He played collegiate tennis at Trine University, earning his degree from the Ketner School of Business in 2013.
After college, Garrett began his professional career in business and sales. He co-founded a nonprofit with (2) friends to raise funds and awareness for local charities in Terre Haute, IN. Their work included partnerships with Pro athletes and coaches such as Greg Oden, former #1 Overall NBA Draft pick, and honored the late Frank Hamblen, longtime assistant to Phil Jackson during the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers dynasties.
In 2023, Garrett relocated to NC, where he continues to coach tennis privately and serve in both middle & high school ministries at Legacy Center Church in Wake Forest.
