Coach Tate is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. After graduating High School in 1999’ he enlisted in the United States Air Force & served at McGuires Air Force Base. During his tenure, he also coordinated & ran the Intramural Basketball League on base from 2001-2006. 

From 2007 to 2010, Coach Tate served as a Corrections Officer and participated in a Prison Leadership & Training Program designed to help inmates in transition. Coach Tate also served many years in a Youth Advocacy Program; providing support services, mentorship, & leadership skills to At-Risk-Teens. 

Upon relocating back to North Carolina in 2015, Coach Tate has held several coaching & leadership positions within our Wake Forest - Rolesville Community. From being named the Assistant JV & Varsity Football Coach, School Instructional Assistant, & JV Boys Assistant Basketball Coach, all at Rolesville High School. Through his commitment, dedication, & efforts; In 2025, Coach Tate was named the Head Boys JV Men's Basketball Coach at Rolesville High School, and will continue in that role while serving as Assistant Coach with the North Carolina Capitals Professional Basketball Team.
